Most active LIRR stations built during the same era have been replaced as they were falling apart in the 1980's and 1990s'. These are no different.

Can't help but notice the similarities in the canopies in Woodhaven Jct and Locust Manor.

Yes, Locust Manor had similar light fixtures too. They must have been built around the same time.

I do have some recent pics from last year, mostly taken from street level in some spots as I was riding my bike along the route when I took them. The only exceptions being around the location of the Glendale cut-off which was pretty easy to access while on a bike and from the southernmost portion of Forest Park at Park Lane South. I didn't include those because as you've mentioned above those 20 years have made a huge difference. I climbed the embankment to the tracks and when I took some photos there really wasn't any room to manuever around and get any kind of noteworthy shot. The plant growth was so thick (I made the mistake of doing this in the beginning of the summer season) that it looked like I was standing in someone's garden in a backyard! The particular section of track that I stood in was just before the overpass on Park Lane South and had experienced really bad washouts of the railbed foundation over the years - I'm talking at least 2 feet deep in some places. I'll post what pics that I can soon.

The main problem with connecting the Rockaway line to the Queens Blvd. line would be the incredible overcrowding it would cause on that already jammed-up line.

You didn't miss much. Those stations were basically dirt clearings. There were no station buildings and no platforms.

Isn't Richmond Hill that station the (J) passes over between 121st and 111th? If so, it does have a platform, its still there to this day! It looked like it would have had nice photo opts esp with the Jamaica BMT passing overhead, oh well. I gotta explore the street level one day.

"In that same photo, you can still see the ash dump, owned, I believe, by the Brooklyn Ash Removal Company, made famous by "The Great Gatsby" and eventually the location of the 1939 and 1964 World's Fairs and Flushing Meadow Park."

Caro talks about that ash dump in The Power Broker, in the chapters preceding Moses and his role in the city putting together the 1939 Fair. Apparently before the city started to clean up that part of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, the ash removal company would dump two trainloads of ash and garbage on the site every day. (Caro maintains thathe Brooklyn Ash Removal Company had a private rail right of way through the park to the dump site. Who knows where this rail line started from or where it ran.) Apparently one of the ash piles grew into a small mountain which was called "Mount Corona".

Actually it really wouldn't. A lot of Queens blvd people already come in off the Q53, Q11 et al, so these same people would be served. The riders from further down would probably stay on the local since they'd already have a seat. Since they're already saving ~30 minutes over the A's routing, the extra 5 minutes for the local stops is meaningless.
What they could do is extend the M even further to Rockaway Park. Weekends the line could be served by the G or something.

Also Woodhaven Blvd desperately needs some real rapid transit and this would help that greatly.

There is still one "To Jamaica and Rockaway" mosaic tablet visible, and it can seen at the westernmost stairway from the mezzanine level towards the Forest Hills-bound platform. The other two have been covered by the newer enamel signage attached on the walls.
