Posted by Newkirk Images on Thu Aug 26 20:38:03 2010 Photographed on the Astoria line, This BMT Standard displays a newly painted on "BT" designation. At one time, this two car unit had a #4000 series trailer sandwiched in between operating ends. When the trailers were retired and scrapped, some units had an "A" unit replace the trailer. Could the reason for the "BT" be a two car unit, with no door controls, to make up a 5 car train with a "B" unit ? Confusing, yep ! The motorman could care less about the photographer !
