This coming weekend, Tower 18 in Chicago at Lake and Wells is scheduled to be no more. Over the weekend, the controls will be moved to a temporary location at the head of a new bungalow constructed at track level between Lake ST and Randolph. A clever scheme that maintains weekend service for the Pink, Green, Orange and Brown lines should be approved this week.Is a new building being built at Lake/Wells, or is the tower moving away from the junction forever? |
