Well, WADR it wasn't clear in the beginning. You made it sound like the entire electrification system required rebuilding to accommodate pantographs.

As for the CNSM's street running, here's a hi-res pic that seems to show single-wire overhead that wouldn't be a particular problem for pantographs . . . (it resembles the single wire that HBLR uses on Essex Street in Jersey City, in fact)
