Most trains that don't stop at Jamaica can stop at Woodside, and that allows for an easy same platform transfer between ESA and NYP trains. It sounds like a sound idea, but it may not work. Look at the interlockings. You want to arrange things so that one train will not have to pass in front of the other. Manhattan bound trains share a pair of platforms serving tracks 1,2 and 3. So those will be the tracks that trains stop on. 4 and 5 can also be used for east bounds, but to access Woodside they would have to move to the "local" tracks. Maybe that is possible, maybe it will interfere with other trains. I am not familiar with the interlocking at Jamaica and so cannot suggest what will and will not work. ROAR |
