This time is different: A settlement will probably ask for full funding to build a new diesel maintenance facility, along with siting and the appropriate EISes for such.The question is: Where else woould a diesel loco shop be? In addition, and this is a correction from prior: The yard is technically not LIRR property, but a lease is pretty hard to break without cause. What are you talking about? The LIRR's diesel shop is Morris Park near richmond Hill. No where near this yard. Why would they have to build another diesel loco shop? There is nothing wrong with the one at Morris Park. |
