It should be more obvious that I don't live in the neighborhood any more. I'm glad New York City has improved beyond my wildest expectations since I lived there, but it has inevitably lost huge chunks of its soul. Louis Vuitton bags abound where F.W.I.L. can't survive. I would be amazed if you can still buy a cod off a boat and carry it home in your bicycle basket or, for that matter, your Hummer. |
