Good news to all, the open air space will be retained once work is complete. They are curing structural defects at that station, as well as renovating the platforms.And more news. . .a confirmed sighting that the Newkirk Ave bridge overpass will be replaced. This bridge replacement is a NYC DOT project; I saw two "Road Construction Ahead" signs on Newkirk Ave before the bridge which confirms this. Thanks Dave, so the Newkirk Ave overpass will be replaced. Must have some structural deficiencies. Does the rehab call for replacing the old platform crapping pigeons with new ones ?
