Civil rights, OTOH cannot be taken away by the legislative process.Not quite. I distinctly recall Congress voting to repeal the basic right to not be imprisoned without charges, despite this being in the body of the Constitution itself. If Bush had managed to appoint one more supreme court justice, they would have upheld this decision. |
