Most NYers will never even know that the MTA even planned to build a Glass Egg."False and ridiculous. The Egg was all over the newspapers; it was discussed on NY1 and in public hearings. Most NYCrs knew all about it; many liked it; few complained about it. Many didn't feel strongly one way or the other because the federal government was picking up the whole tab. Of course it was all over the papers, NY1 and in public meetings. Since people like you and I are interested in transit projects, we will read about it, watch for it and follow up on it. Most other people go straight to the Sports Section, political stuff or celebrity gossip and either forget about it or ignore it altogether let alone get into the details. If you show me in passing a nice pretty Glass Egg and say that this will solve Fulton's problems, I would say "Hey that's great, I support it, especially if the Feds are paying for it" and then go back to reading about Michael Vick or Anna Nicole Smith. So what's the matter with Britney anyway? |
