It's a good idea and the tunnel does have excess capacity, though turning a train takes more time than merely running through. Still, perhaps the Q could be extended, at least during non-rush hours (yes, I know that's not what they are asking for, but it's a place to start and better than nothing).Impossible and impractical. F and Q service each run 6-7 tph middays and 7.5 tph on weekends. Now with a combined 15 tph on the F line, every 3-4 minutes an F train stops at Roosevelt Island in either direction. And you want to say it's OK to turn Q trains there? You have to be nuts. |
