That's entirely at the discretion of the Court. If they had a huge backlog of cases and felt like clearing them, they could dismiss on the first date. There's nothing in the law that requires the judges to grant continuances.Here in KC, my wife contested a traffic ticket (alleged turn against red light). The officer didn't show the first time, and the judge tossed it out. |
