IINM, the police that patrol the subways still use hand-written tickets.

Usually there was always something wrong with the ticket - illegible license number or meter number - misspelling - omitted information - etc that would cause it to be invalidated.

That's what happened to me. I was caught photographing at Smith-9, and the officer issuing the ticket wrote in the Section/Subdivision field, "1050.c(5)."

Look in that field. If it says anything other than 1050.9(d), you have a good chance of getting it dismissed.

Look at it carefully. The smallest mistake could lead to a dismissal. If possible, appear before the hearing date written on your NOV.
