Yeah I know there was a Taystee [sic?] bakery there for years, between the Western Beef store and the expressway. On the OT, I thought that the expressway obliterated the freight leads, traces of which still seem to die under the overpass, if I remember right, just before the approach over College Point Blvd into Flushing-Main St station. Then again, even the connection to the old, long-defunct Flushing-Bridge St can still be seen, which is - I guess - why they announce the only existing stop as Flushing-Main St, to avoid confusion with the long gone Whitestone branch? |
