The stationhouse dates from before the grade elimination took place. From the looks of the photo, it appears the grade elimination had been completed (I think I see the wall that's still there by the stationhouse). I have seen photos however when the rails were still on the surface, and what a mess that intersection must have been! The train went right through the Fresh Pond Rd and Metropolitan Ave intersection! it was a three way intersection between those two roads and the railroad! Granted, the traffic wasn't that bad yet, but what an intersection to have a train go right through!
