It's a good plan but I would run this service to the future Sunnyside Station via the Montauk Cutoff. From there, passengers would have great transfer options to the subway. These trains would layup in a rebuilt Yard A. It's importance would then be on par with the Atlantic Branch and local riders in Glendale, Middle Village, Maspeth, etc would have a quasi-subway service in their transit-starved neighborhoods. A couple of trains would still use LIC as a terminal. |
