I don't know if they were supposed to be 5 car units or not, but I have no reason to doubt you because I don't know one way or the other. Even if you did have two 5 car units, you would still have the same problem in the middle. Unless they would have been transverse cabs, was the conductor supposed to risk HIS life crossing units to operate the doors on the appropriate side in the middle of the train? Plus, if they were going to be 5 car units, then conductor controls would have been necessary in the #1 cabs. |
