If cabs must be transverse, I don't see what's wrong with a full-size transparent window and a sliding curtain (lengthwise with respect to the car) to block glare.That's how things are done on the MBTA, although I'm not sure about the new cars for the Blue Line. Usually the operator extends the curtain to cover the entire window, though. |
