Posted by El-Train on Thu Oct 5 05:10:49 2006 Very few photos showing the transition between the lighting are out there. I'm curious to know when this occured, and if any of you old-timers (with all due respect) can recall and give me an idea of how the subway was during the days of incandescent lighting, and how long did it take flourescent lighting to completely dominate the system.I can say that the IRT Chambers Street station's mezzanine if the only spot I recall seeing in many years that still has incandescent lighting, though it's strictly by the platform stairways and dominated by flourescent lighting all around it. |
