This all being said about the cement block tile on the Broadway Line and 4th Ave line in Brooklyn, do any of you remember what the signs used to look like in those colored sections?
Well, each colored section had a sign, but they were not the current standard black background with white letters...they were instead in the LIRR style of white with black letters, and had a black strip on top (just liek the LIRR used to do before they switched to blue).

They ad the same font as the subway signs do now, except they were white with black letters, and they were in every colored section. That was changed to every other colored section when they put the black signs up in the 80's.
