That's a backwards way of thinking. 2 government agencies should be able to work together for the good of the people.I'm not saying that at all. I think it should go to GCT because for one, it increases capacity and two, it brings some riders to the east side. As for it being a backwards way of thinking, sorry, but this is America, and in our capitalist democratic nature, you have to think that way. In a perfect world, yes, government agencies should be able to work together for the good of the people, but that doesn't always happen, and is extremely unlikely in this case. Also, the modification of the very old Penn Station puts forward many structural risks on someone else's property (that being Amtrak), and that wouldn't happen with ESA. |
