And you miss the point that it is considered not only best practice but the only practice in corporate America. This isn't rocket science to implement either. And I did say that it would be hard to do with the old cars. But with CBTC and the NTTs this should just be part of normal operations. Like I said too, you can't even post to this website without a user ID and PW, even on your phone, even underground.You are truly underestimating the current technology and overestimating the costs. Here's an example. When the MTA gave an estimate on how long it would take to get real time clocks to the B division, they said 30 years! It took maybe a year when someone that knew technology was put in charge of it. It was probably done with off the shelf parts too. No need to reinvent the wheel, something the MTA is really good at. And let me ask this. How do you get internet in your house? Do you even think about it anymore? |
