Happauge is where the legislature meets and where the county executive’s offices are, along with the headquarters of various county agencies.Riverhead is the home of the courts, and the County Clerk’s office, along with the county jail. The courts are also in Central Islip. They got rid of the jury duty special because it’s no longer necessary; because of the mainline third track and Ronkonkoma Branch second track, the earliest train out of Ronkonkoma to Riverhead (actually Greenport) now has a connection from New York. Currently this is bustituted. |
