It was ironic that Jamaica line service between 168th Street and Queens Boulevard ended on what was the 45th anniversary of the inaugural of the first leg of IND service - as the last of the "Arnine" cars that were the first of the newer system (and, in their last years, assigned to routes like J) didn't last that long, all retired some six months before. |
