It's not that "jet fuel is bad" that is the key concern...it's that there's only so much oil to make it out of. One day that WILL run out. What are we going to do then? And it's that attitude so many people have of "Well, I won't be around when that happens" that only makes it worse, because it makes people not inclined to do anything, to leave it to the generations who will face the issue instead of fixing it NOW so we don't have to worry. There is a saying that gets bounded around and the wording shifts, but the idea is the same. "A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit." The actions your generations have taken, will have a direct effect on mine and the those that come after. Do you want to leave us with even more of a mess to clean up, or the groundwork for a future where we won't need jet fuel because we'll have something better? |
