This is the sort of idea that is born strictly of ideology-- in other words, since jet fuel is bad, and electricity is good, therefore, an electric-powered railroad across the ocean must be a good idea, even if it is more or less impractical today. I can only imagine the cost-- and the cost overruns, not to mention the ongoing maintenance costs of such a venture. |
