It makes more sense to me than the idea that they can't get up certain grades.Obviously they can get up the grades. Low gears, or their electrical equivalent, allow a weakly powered vehicle to get up a steep grade, very slowly. Some people have claimed that they can't make it up the grade quickly enough to prevent a traffic jam, if they are forced to stop. That is at least plausible, though I haven't any present supporting evidence. |
