WMATA: Silver Line Phase II System Map

Posted by Sand Box John on Wed Oct 12 09:06:58 2022

This is the Silver line Phase II System Map.

You will notice a few other changes to the map.

Station name changes:

Largo Town Center>Downtown Largo
Prince George’s Plaza>Hyattsville Crossing
White Flint>North Bethesda
Tysons Corner>Tysons
West Falls Church VT-UVA>West Falls Church VT
Potomac Yardshown asFuture

WMATA eliminated the need to print a new map for the opening of the Potomac Yard station by placing a sticker on the map that shows it as future.

WMATA has yet to announce dates for the opening of Silver line Phase II or Potomac Yard. Both were projected to open some time during the fourth quarter of this year. It is still likely for Silver line Phase II, however Potomac Yard will likely open sometime in early 2023 as undesirable underlying soils conditions along the tie in alignment were discovered to be greater then what was expected. The tie in alignment work began on 09 10 2022 requiring the closing of all of the station south of National Airport. Service south of National Airport was to be restored on 10 22 2022 with trains running through the new station, but has been pushed to 11 05 2022 because of the underlying soils conditions. Also on 09 10 2022 Yellow line service was suspended to allow repairs to the segmented steel lined tunnels between L'Enfant Plaza and the fan shaft at Water Street SW along with maintenance work to be done to the Charles R. Fenwick Bridge over the Potomac River. Service along on Yellow line is to resume on a yet to be announced date in May of 2023. The Yellow line stations south of King Street will be serviced by the Blue line (1.3 MB PDF file).
