Re: Both R10 cars are on the schedule

In regular service, yes, and in the "Parade of Trains", yes, all mechanically. But in the latter, there was an overcrowding problem not only in the SMEE"s, but also in the BU cars, which is also a three-car event.

It seemed everyone was jammed packed inside R-10 #3189 to the point I could not get any suitable interior camera shots, and it was like rush hour. There was some breathing room in the next car, #3184 and #6387 (R-16).

Previously, when R-10 #3184 and R-16 #6387 operated with the other newer SMEE"s, like the R-42 (#4572-4573) and R-38 (#4028-4029), during these special events, there was a balance of passengers spread out amongst the cars in the consist.

Also, it did not help matters when many of the vintage runs started late. The first run of the ACF SMEE's, for example, did not go off in each day until about a little after the 12 noon hour, instead of after the 11 am hour start.
