Thank you, as always!!!I remember reading in the Daily News in the summer of '89 about the "ancient" R10s running in the C. Also that early was run of the V was on a Saturday (which I remember), even thought he V was and was intended to be a weekday-only service. We all know what happened a few days later.... Regarding the Cortland Street station, an empty shell of the original was built in 2002 - but then, as part of the Oculus construction was demolished without ever having been used or even finished. So the station that's there now, is actually Version 3.0. I know this for a fact- I remember riding through the dark shell in the early 2000s, then complete daylight again in the 2010s. The present station is actually inside of an enclosed bridge, whereas Versions 1.0 and 2.0 were in tunnel. |
