If you just wanted to railfan you could simply crossover without paying anything, same as at other stations.I actually did this, during the mid-year regents in 1975. Went out to Far Rockaway on the A (previously, I had only been as far as Beach 60th (Straiton). Then back to Broad Channel, got the HH, and out to Rockaway Park. When I got to Rockaway Park, I had covered the entire system. Or so I thought. Years later, when I was living in Southern California, I realized that I had never been to 207th St on the A. D'OH. Since I was already on the A, I could have just ridden to 207th and been done. It took 31 years to accomplish this, of course by then I had to cover 63rd St and the E and J to Archer Av. The next time I am in NY, I will have to cover the SAS and 34/Hudson on the 7. |
