The black replacements are a good temporary measure, but c'mon! At this point, with the subway system back to "normal" service, and no changes coming for the forseeable future, I'd say it's about time the MTA orders some fresh new Next time you're in Washington DC, look at the labels on the brown pylons in the Union Station metro station. You can see where "Visitor's Center" was covered up 25 or so years ago. (It was barely accurate in 1976.) Every so often some vandal peels away the covering, and a few days later it gets covered back up. So "temporary" coverings can go on for decades. |
