I am only saying that there is evidence that this was done as a tribute. Not that it is conclusive. What is conclusive is that they look like Confederate battle flags, not that it was intentional.I am thinking that it is highly likely to have been intentional, but you make good points in the other direction. Of course, if it weren't common practice back in 1918 to glorify the Confederacy, this wouldn't even be a question. |
