Posted by Elkeeper on Fri Jul 14 14:38:38 2017, in response to HISTORY OF - ex-NY EL forney Locos found in Alaska, posted by JOE @ NYCMTS - NYCTMG on Wed Jul 12 23:14:24 2017. All but 4 IRT Forney locomotives were sold off by 1916. After 1930, only 2 remained, #137 and #295. During WWII, they were found in the 133rd St Yards under tarps, by field agents of the Office of Defense Transportation. They ordered them to be scrapped on Feb 9th, 1943. |
