Budd had the rigging to do it from the Metroliner. Had Amtrak waited 4 more months, Budd said they could have used the Heritage car profile for Amfleet 2 body, but Amtrak got impatient. It was not to gain interior space. Amtrak could never build a sleeper car out of the Amfleet shell. |
