The card is cancelled, they mail a new one and credit the fraudulent charges. As opposed to cash. Or an ordinary farecard.As for phones, I "wave" my phone around the subway all the time. It is not more likely to be stolen near a turnstile. Finally, while cell phone thefts are a thing, you do seem to be stuck in the 70s with regard to crime, so I don't intend to take your advice on crime prevention. |
