The phone is pumping out the same RFID signal that the credit card pumps out. So it's the same technology on both ends. It's just that the phone selectively pumps out the RFID signal whereas the credit card is always broadcasting (or rather it's always listening for a prompt to broadcast - not sure which one it is offhand) |
