The BMT had the habit of just leaving obsolete signs: example BMT Standard roll signs kept 6th Avenue as a destination long after the Canarsie Line was extended to 8th Avenue. "Franklin-Nassau" (Standards) and "Coney Island Express" (D-types) remained though they were never used in regular service.They also sewed "new" destinations onto the end of existing rolls. And under BofT, a "new" destination was sown over an older nearby one on the PCCs. |
