No way, Q always meant Brighton.

A=Washington Heights to 8th
B=Washington Heights to 6th (though this was lost in the 90s swap with the C)
C=Concourse to 8th (though this was lost in the 90s swap with the B)
D=Concourse to 6th
E=Queens to 8th
F=Queens to 6th
G=Crosstown
H=Rockaways
J=Nassau Street to Jamaica Av
K=General Extra (latest use was 8th Ave)
L=14th / Canarsie
M=Nassau Street to Metropolitan (Lost in 2010)
N=Sea Beach to Broadway
Q=Brighton to Broadway (though orange Q was used in the 90s)
R=4th Ave Local to Broadway
S=Shuttle
T=West End to Broadway (though is no longer necessary and may be moved to SAS)
V=6th Ave Extra
W=Broadway Extra
Z=Nassau Street extra

Should it happen that a service is developed that does not reflect the above routings (e.g. the Sea Beach line started going to 6th Ave) then chances are the Manhattan mainline would take precedence. For example, if the Concourse to 6th Ave service ever went to Sea Beach it would probably be the D (and there would be no N).
