Extending the F train to Queens Village is not on the table.So maybe we have the wrong table. There is vast proof that extending the F would have demand - look at the packed buses that run from east Queens to 179th every day. There is ample proof that the demand for a shoreline trolley is relatively low. - Census figures as to how many people live there - Bus utilization of lines in the area - Utilization of the 19 subway stops that are within about 1/2 mile of the waterfront OK, there has not been a formal study. But that doesn't mean we don't have a decent idea of how the traffic numbers would come out. |
