I suspect most of you are experiencing downright cold and harsh wintry weather, so perhaps these photos from my summer travels will warm you up a bit.

Part 3B included photos from my trip on the Pacific Surfliner from Los Angeles to San Diego, and this post will include my photos from my two full days in San Diego. During my time there, I rode the heritage PCC trolley (thanks to whoever recommended I do that), and also significant portions of the Green and Orange lines. (I also rode two buses and photographed others, I'll post those photos over on BusChat.)

Aside from a snafu getting my two day pass (the agent at the transit store said I had asked for a three day pass and processed my payment before I caught her mistake, so I had to pay again for a two day pass and fill out a form so they could send me a check to refund me for the three day pass), I found San Diego transit to be quite enjoyable. I had no problems taking photos, and the operator on the PCC was quite friendly. (There was also another railfan from Europe on the PCC when I was riding it.)

And here is the lone Coaster photo I took while I was there.

For those of you following along, I've now gone about as far west and south as one can by land without finding oneself in another country or in the ocean. So after two short days, I had to resolve to go back to San Diego another time in the future and head for the airport to head up to my next destination. And for good measure, I got to experience an excellent performance at the TSA security measure at the airport.

Next post to come...
