Yeah, I deliberately left that out to avoid the lab vs field thing.An ideal passenger train would not skid any wheels, it would have functioning ABS on every axle and hold either the commanded decel rate or the the decel possible at the limit of static fricton, whichever is greater. Whether a transit bureaucracy would spec, test and propely maintain such a system is another matter. |
