I really am unsure if there was ever real inclusive ban on wooden cars. The "Q's" ran to Main St, Flushing for the 1939 World's Fair, right? As I wrote before, the BMT gate cars ran under Centre St until August, 1927. Plus, the BMT "C" cars were tested for 2 months, Jan + Feb, 1923, on the Broadway-Brooklyn lines, running to either Chambers or Canal Sts.
glad to hear that you have all 3 volumes of Cunningham/Dehart. It took me over 30 years to find Volume 1 (IRT), the scarcest one!
