Union or management, the only difference is the names of the idiots. And, one might remember that the 8hr day/40 hr week, paid sick leave, paid vacation are all courtesy of union activity. So, sadly, are also "firemen" on diesel engines, "full crew laws" mandating overstaffing of freight trains in years past, the "second car driver" on the MBTA Green lines and other such abuses.And, as a reminder, when GM partnered w/Toyota in the Fremont assembly plant in CA, UAW represented workers produced Toyotas and various GM relabels at the same or better efficiency/quality levels as any other Toyota plant in the US. Best of all, the plant continued to generate carloadings for the serving RR. |
