IMHO, these look to be a giant step backwards, as far as aesthetics goes. The original cars were graceful, whether moving or stopped. JEt age appearance and performance for their times.These transit agencies think that a car must be "state of the art" (I still can't figure out what the hell that means 40 years later) with all these fancy trappings that just add to the cost and means more to maintain. (we know how that goes here in NYC). Go back to the tried & true design, I say. |
