Batteries on the R16 car were cleaned up, components were scrubbed down. Much of the flooring was recemented and some of the glass, particularly that of the map housing, was replaced. Emergency brake cords were replaced, and lots of clean-up was done throughout the car. Regarding Diesel #9, she was turned on and roaring after a number of tweaks with batteries and other things. It was a day-long process. She does have one more thing to troubleshoot, though (air supply-related, I believe), before she can roll again.However, the rest of the roof vent panels on 6398 have to be removed and repainted (on 10/15, an outside contractor will begin preparations for repainting). The cement that was recently layed down has to be evened out with some sanding (the process was already started). Most of the floor trim surrounding the seat panels on the floor have been removed (most of the screws holding them in place haven't been untightened since 1955! So many of those screws needed to be removed with chissel and hammer). The rest of the electrical work has to be completed. Anything else i'm forgetting can also chime in. |
