Posted by Mysterious Friday 1986 on Mon Sep 29 01:11:29 2014 Hello everyone!The Preservation Experience: R16 Car 6398 was a smashing success! We got a number of things done last Saturday and hit some milestones along the way. The event focused on R16 Car 6398, a subway car with lots of history and a story to tell. She was retired from passenger service by 1987 and quickly picked up for preservation by a group of individuals who were interested in preserving history. Today, she sits at the Trolley Museum of New York, the only post-war NYCTA B-Division subway car privately owned. A number of people came out to help and we thank them for lending a hand! We also would like to thank The Trolley Museum of New York for allowing us into their home. Everyone involved is amazing! If you missed out on this event, not to worry, for we're planning a similar event in a few weeks...and an even bigger event in the Spring! Keep an eye out for that soon!
