Posted by kp5308 on Mon Apr 7 21:44:38 2014 We'll start off with a shot from the Robert Vogel Memorial Parking garage:We boarded Regional #153 in Philadelphia which arrived at the BWI Airport stop about 15 minutes late due to a delay for a broken down train at Wilmington: After shooting a few we boarded MARC train #683 for New Carrollton: Kev snaps one off before we head for the upper level of one of the coaches The tickets are printed on Amtrak stock. Are all MARC tickets like this? Homer on the platform: No wonder we seemed to really roll: Acela #2212 caught me by surprise: After about an hour off to DC on the WMATA Orange Line: I LOVE the subway stations in Washington: Fort Totten lower level: Upper level: I was hoping to see a CSX freight...but that fence hasta go: What an entrance: We rarely see these Amtrak end cab switchers in Philly. This is ex-Pittsburgh & Lake Erie MP15DC #1590, La Grange class of '75: And this SW1000R which was also built for the P&LE as SW900 #8955 in 1952: MARC train #488 should have us back in Baltimore in plenty of time to catch Regional #126 home: Evelyn was asking the passengers how they liked the service & if they had any questions. I have NEVER run into something like this before...Good job MARC: Arrival at Baltimore Penn was 2 minutes early at 4:38. Two items of interest showed up. First, the only Viewliner diner was on the southbound Crescent: And we had new power on the point of our ride home: We stopped at 30th St. dead on time: After a few SEPTIC shots on the upper level: I hopped on the same NJT consist that got me to Philly this morning.
