I never allow myself to ever wear myself out and not get proper rest to the point where it can have detrimental effect on my duties.

Amen. The toughest thing for me is to attempt to get sleep adequate rest during hours of daylight. I sometimes work Newark to Seattle in the morning and then, that same evening, the Anchorage turn arriving back at Seattle at 0500. That one is rough.
