It did, in fact one or two trains that ran to Astoria as QB's returned southbound as N trains. I also recall the Museum R1-9 train being in daily QB service, it made the trip north around 8am if I recall correctly and then returned to CIY light over the Sea Beach line and then did the exact in the PM rush.
